Nassau Chapter of
the American Guild of Organists
We are one of five groups, called Chapters, of the AGO on Long Island, all of us enthusiastic in our love of and support for the organ and its close partner, choral music. Some of us also play other keyboard instruments such as piano, harpsichord, synthesizer, and even the cast-bell carillon. All have a keyboard or two or three, or as many as seven, and some have a keyboard for the feet called a pedalboard. Some organs make their sounds through 21st century technology but have their roots firmly in the sound of wind-blown pipes, that’s why you’ll find many of us advocating for historic pipe organs here on Long Island, throughout New York State, around the country and around the world. Check out our Web presence which we will keep up to date with information of interest to everyone at any stage of organ knowledge whether this is your first time exploring organs or you’re a trained professional and all points in between. You are welcome.
